WELCOME TO MY RECIPES PAGE!!
first recipe: good grilled cheese
the original recipe calls for a source of heat, but i'm very weak to spice unfortunately... so i tend to leave that out. however, if you CAN handle it, then adding some chili flakes, dijon mustard, etc is HIGHLY reccommended.
first, though, take 3 garlic cloves and crush them. garlic powder works too, i use a garlic and ginger paste i always have in stock. you can eyeball all of these, but be careful-- garlic's strong!
take two bread slices and put a source of sweetness on them, honey is ideal! (add your heat here too, if you choose)
take a pan and put it on your stove on low to medium heat. (you might have to adjust this based on your stove! i have unfortunately burnt a couple in the past...)
put some butter on the pan along with your garlic-- add some herbs too! if you have an italian spice mix, or any spices included in that, that's ideal.
the butter will melt in the pan and soak up the extra flavors— now you gotta either take each slice of bread and put them in the pan to butter them OR take one slice, put cheese on it (ideally not american/kraft single cheese, anything but that) and then put the other slice on. i personally use a fiesta shredded cheese mix!
once the bread is in the pan turn the heat up a couple of notches and let it sit for a bit. when you see the cheese get visibly melty or you nudge the bread around and feel the crispiness, flip it once and do the same thing!
then, you're done! enjoy your sandwich!

second recipe: low energy stir fry(?)
this one's just one i came up with myself-- very much following the philosiphy of "throw what you have together and see what happens."
boil two packets of instant noodles, either in a pot or the microwave. remove the flavor packets.
while those are cooking, grab a bowl. we're about to make our sauce-- i use rice wine, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, teriyaki sauce, honey, and sesame oil.
honestly, just throw whatever you have together that sounds like it'd be good. even if you just have soy sauce, duck sauce, and honey.
i tend to eyeball the sauce ingredients, but you'll want a third of the bowl filled with it, with a focus on the savory and salty parts of the sauce with only a couple spoonfuls of honey.
grab a large pan or wok and put chopped green onion, sesame oil, and canned chicken in it. allow that to cook on the lowest heat as you make everything else.
once the noodles are done boiling, drain the water and add them to the wok. after doing so, add the sauce.
turn the heat up slightly and mix everything together.
after everything is mixed and cooked slightly more, transfer to a bowl and serve!
this is optional, but i also enjoy frying an egg to put on top for a little extra. this recipe is two servings!

third recipe: cream cheese danish
i really love this recipe! i like to bake, but not anything that's too complicated... so it was really nice to run into a tumblr post of this recipe by thefarahkitchen on tiktok! again, i cannot stress enough, this is not my recipe.
get one roll of puff pastry dough and flatten it out, cut into even pieces. (the video linked gives visual examples.)
for the filling, get half a brick of cream cheese, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of sugar, 1/4 tsp (1.4 ml) of salt, and 1 tsp (5 ml) of vanilla extract. blend/mix everything.
evenly distribute among puff pastry pieces.
beat 1 egg and brush over puff pastry edges with an egg wash.
put into oven to bake at 400f (204c) for 15 minutes. and that's all!
the video linked definitely does a better job at showing how the recipe works, but as long as more people learn this very easy recipe and gain the confidence to make it themselves, that's enough for me. :)
